More About My Background and Skills

UNIQUE EXPERIENCES

I have pretty much only worked in tech marketing, aside from a brief "passion project" in the mental health arena. Since early in my career, I have been fortunate to work for many start-ups in the Pittsburgh area based on technologies or founders' ideas that emerged from the esteemed Carnegie Mellon University. I also lived and worked in the Bay Area among best-in-class talent. I was part of two "exit success stories" - GoldenGate Software (acquired by Oracle) and CombineNet (acquired by SciQuest, now Jaggaer) while working as a marketing leader at each. I am now in the Raleigh/Durham Triangle area with my husband and fellow tech marketer Eric Boduch, one of the co-founders of the rapidly growing Pendo.io.

NOT INTIMIDATED BY TECH:

Something I pride myself on is my ability to very quickly learn about new technologies and their market spaces. I've worked for a diverse set of companies whose offerings included developer tools; supply chain optimization; spend management/procurement tech; data integration and replication; e-learning; market research data science; financial apps; and telehealth.

"OTHER" HARD SKILLS:

In addition to my overall management skills, I bring other advantages to the table. I possess excellent and rapid business writing skills (my original career dream was to be a journalist), and I am a well-practiced, comfortable public speaker in front of small and large groups. I am a trained media spokesperson.

MARTECH KNOWLEDGE:

Finally, I believe it’s essential that today's marketing leader have a strong understanding of marketing technology that can be implemented at the right time to enhance a company’s growth and productivity. My martech exposure has included: SFA/Salesforce.com; Marketing automation (Marketo, Pardot); Email campaign tools (Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, Campaign Manager, etc.); Website & landing page tools (WordPress, Optimizely, Unbounce, HTML hard coding, etc.); Social media management tools (Sprout Social, Buffer, etc.); Webinar tools (GoToWebinar, Webex, ON24, Zoom, etc.) and more. I can help evaluate what tools are needed at what point, while being sensitive to budget resources.

To Wrap This Up...

Start-up, entrepreneurial companies are environments that I love and where I feel most at home. I thrive on the pace, the dynamic nature, the collaborative and results-oriented team spirit, and directly observing the progress (and yes, even the mis-steps) along the way. But I know that many such companies do not have the budget to hire a seasoned head of marketing on top of funding marketing campaigns, events, tools, and other necessities that are key to growth. A consulting marketing executive can be a win for all involved.
